Dangers of Contemplative Spirituality
Contemplative Spirituality Concerns
Description: Many people today - Christians and non-Christians - are engaging in Contemplative Spirituality practices. What many do not realize is that the Spiritual Formation "centering prayer" movement, with its mystical and occult methods and techniques, is part of a global Interfaith system of spirituality, a spirituality that is rooted in Eastern mysticism and philosophies such as pantheism (All is God, God is all), monism (All is one) and panentheistic (All in God, God in all) evolutionary occultism (the "hidden" things, "universal cosmic energies," quantum spirituality, etc).
This short introductory video speaks to the fact that the "centering prayer" and "meditation" movements within the New Spirituality/New Gospel/New Age movement are hostile to the Person, nature, and work of Jesus Christ and the biblical Gospel.

Description: Father Thomas Keating is an internationally recognized Ecumenist and Interfaith Dialogue and Global Oneness advocate. He is also the leading Pioneer of the 20-21st century Contemplative "Centering Prayer" movement. This short video takes a brief, hard look at Thomas Keating's undiscerning and dangerous endorsement (and written Foreward) to Philip St. Romaine's Eastern Occult + Christian Spirituality promoting book, Kundalini Energy & Christian Spirituality: A Pathway to Growth & Healing (Crossroad, April 1, 1991).
Contemplative Spirituality, Thomas Keating-style, is a syncretistic blend of mystical Hindu/Buddhist and Roman Catholic spirituality, replete with Integral Thought Quantum Spirituality (Metaphysics) and biblical phraseology.
In light of such, one must not forget that Jesus Christ Himself, God Incarnate, warned His disciples that false teachers and false prophets would arise and deceive many. Thomas Keating's false teachings and ungodly alliances should be clearly exposed for what they are; this is not Christianity as the Bible teaches!
Furthermore, Christian leaders, today should be warned about such things, lest they too fall prey to the growing global apostasy that is clearly building momentum towards the coming One-world, Mystery Babylon of Revelation 17 and 18. Jesus forewarned us about such things. "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together." (Matthew 24, v.23-28)

Description: This Full-Length Video (Part 1,2,3,4 = 1hr 18min.) can be viewed as four smaller parts (see below). A listing of all of the books that are mentioned in the video is available also.
- Video #3 - Part 1 (9min.) — A biblical warning and brief statement about various genres of mystical and occult oriented Contemplative Spirituality "centering-prayer" literature that are infiltrating churches and Christian communities.
- Video #3 - Part 2 (21min.) — Considering biblical "separation" from false teachers and false teachings (Romans 16, v.17-19), as opposed to gleaning from "Christian mystics" and experiential practices that are virtually identical to the occult training of the Hindus.
- Video #3 - Part 3 (18min.) — Fr Thomas Keating is the Modern Day Pioneer of the international Contemplative Outreach Ltd. "centering-prayer" movement. As such, he seeks to "integrate" Christian spirituality with the occult "Serpent Power" of Hinduism, otherwise known as Kundalini energy. According to Hindu and Buddhist occultists, "Kundalini-shakti" lies coiled at the base of the spine, awaiting arousal via centering prayer/occult meditation.
- Video #3 - Part 4 (29min.) — Contemplative Spirituality's dangerous Christian Mysticism/occult hybrid form of "Centering Prayer" is inextricably tied to Interfaith (Inter-religious) Dialogue, Ecumenism, and the ever-increasing "Global Oneness" New Spirituality/New Gospel of the New Age movement.
